Jay Z pays tribute to Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington at the end of V Festival

Jay-Z and Linkin Park will, of course, be forever intertwined because of their collaboration for 2004 Collision Course mash-up EP.
At Saturday night (Aug.19.2017), at his first show since Chester Bennington’s death last month, Jay-Z paid tribute to his late collaborator and asked the crowd , “Can I get some love for Chester tonight?” He added: “Please make some noise so he can hear you all the way from heaven tonight.”
Jay Z then performed the song Numb/Encore, the single from Collision Course he recorded with the band, and which won a Grammy Award in 2006 for the best rap, sung in collaboration. He also performed some 4:44 tracks live for the very first time, including “Kill Jay Z,” “The Story Of O.J.,” “Family Feud,” and “Smile.”
Chester Bennington’s suicide was announced on July 20. He was 41-years-old, and the Los Angeles County Coroner confirmed the cause of death was by hanging. Since his death, several artists have paid tribute to the singer, including Rhianna, Pharrell and Coldplay.
